Visual Arts Director
Nadine Herrera grew up in Houston, is a graduate of Houston Baptist University, and has always enjoyed serving her community. She received her MBA in 2009 and after working for AT&T for 15 years, decided to leave the company to pursue her dream of helping others through a non-profit organization. In 2015, she accepted the position of Visual Arts Director which allows her to serve and support the students of Spring Branch through Newspring’s afterschool visual arts program. Nadine firmly believes that communication and good relationships with students and their families are the key to a successful afterschool program.
Drawing upon 20 years of experience in the grant process through churches and developing leadership through non-profit, large event planning, I am passionate about the power of the church body coming together as one to empower and uplift marginalized families in our community. Having worked in Youth and Outreach Ministries at St. Luke’s UMC and the Chapelwood Foundation at Chapelwood UMC, I have also served as Chair and Co-Chair of Chapelwood UMW Spring Thing. I am an active member of Chapelwood UMW and First Junior Women’s Club and am a former board member of RaiseUp Families (formerly Westside Homeless Prevention), having served for 6 years in various board capacities. Married to Chris Fields for 23 years, we have 2 children: Wesley (20) and Madeline (14). Both are products of Spring Branch ISD elementary, middle and high schools. We are members of both Chapelwood UMC and Ecclesia West Side where I serve as a nursery volunteer.
