What is a Satellite?
Newspring’s satellite program is open to all the surrounding students in the community! Newspring collaborates with other schools, organizations, and churches in Spring Branch to bring our program to students who might not have the means to come to Newspring due to cost or distance. Our satellites give students an opportunity to explore their artistic talents. Students will gain confidence, perseverance, and focus.

“The parent of a former student told us that her 6th-grade daughter had to complete 3-4 art assignments so that her middle school art teacher could determine her placement in classes (beginning art, advanced art, etc.). Her new art teacher was very impressed with the student’s efforts and asked if she’d ever had art lessons since she was clearly not a “beginner”! This student had participated in your weekly Newspring classes every year until her graduation from 5th-grade in our Enrichment Program in June. (She’s one of several who beg their parents not to come pick them up early on Wednesdays!) Thank you, again, for making a difference in the lives of the children who come to The Branch!”
City Connections is funded in part by the City of Houston and CASE for Kids, a division of Harris County Department of Education.
