Spring Afterschool Program | Classes Begin January 3, 2018
Our Spring afterschool program is for students from 2nd grade through high school. Students will learn a variety of skills from the arts. This will include creativity, confidence, problem-solving, perseverance, focus, non-verbal communication, receiving constructive feedback, collaboration, dedication, and accountability. Each week we will learn a different style of art by exploring art history and multiple mediums using elements of art and principles of design.
Digital Lab | Classes Begin January 9, 2018
DigitalLab is a digital media lab for students at Newspring Art Studio. Through one-on-one or small group classes, we help students work effectively in digital media. Our focus is to introduce students to the exciting world of design. The sessions are 60 minutes long. Students will have access to computers with Adobe design and video software.
Spring Break Art Camp
We schedule a relaxed, fun week of hands on art for our students. Our younger students attend a morning session, while the afternoon students are middle and high school ages.
Summer Art Program
Newspring Summer Art Camp Program features Passport to the World! Each summer the Newspring art studio buzzes with great art lessons and art activities for ten weeks. Join us as we study the arts, culture, and fun from around the world! Our art lessons include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, jewelry making, and fun. Passport to the World features a vibrant learning experience in a caring and loving environment that Newspring is known for!
Bring the kids out to make Christmas gifts for their family, friends, and teachers! During the workshops, children will have fun joining in with all the festive activities and making their Christmas crafts to take home ready to share with all their friends and family.
Fall Afterschool Program
As soon as students enter their Fall School routine, Newspring gears up Fall classes, for our students 3rd grade through high school. Professional art teachers, volunteers and interns give our students attention, and a positive environment where creativity and sharing are rewarded. Our class dates follow the SBISD calendar for Holidays and testing.
City Connections is funded in part by the City of Houston and CASE for Kids, a division of Harris County Department of Education.
